Henley Wanderers Rugby Football Club was formed in 2000 out of what was originally Henley RFC to give players the opportunity to carry on competitive amateur rugby at Henley following the formation of the Henley Hawks as a professional club. It was necessary to form a new club as RFU regulations forbade any of their member clubs fielding teams in more than one competitive league.

In our short history we have achieved tremendous success, currently fielding three senior teams and a vets team. The 1st XV play in the Powergen South West 2 (East) League while the 2nd XV play in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier A League. We are proud to be part of the Henley rugby family at Dry Leas and of our vital role in maintaining and promoting the senior amateur rugby game in Henley town.We share our ground with the Henley Hawks, our professional colleagues, and with the Henley RFC mini, junior, colts and women's sides. This relationship of professional and amateur together offers us excellent facilities and we are always pleased to welcome new members and visitors alike.
